Vietnam: Aviation security tightened following cyber attacks at airports

July 30, 2016

Airports across Vietnam have been ordered to tighten aviation security following cyber-attacks at Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai international airports Friday afternoon, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reports.

In a statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) said the attacks interrupted the airports electronic check-in systems, so check-in procedures were handled manually.

Shortly after the attacks, the CAAV and the National Civil Aviation Security Committee ordered the northern and southern airports authorities, along with relevant sides, to work with security departments of the Ministry of Public Security to handle the incident.
