The UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) is to get its own Cyber-Security Operations Centre (CSOC), after an endowment was announced by defence secretary Michael Fallon.
A £40 million fund will be used to create the facility, which is in turn part of a larger £1.9 billion of investment pledged to improve the country’s cyber security over the next five years.
This will effectively transform the cyber security capabilities of the MoD and is a measure that was called for in the Strategic Defence and Security Review last November.
