President Xi Jinping called on Sunday for greater efforts to develop homegrown network technology to improve cybersecurity, amid a lingering spat between China and the United States over hacking allegations.
Xi made the remarks at the first study session dedicated to information security to be held by the Communist Party’s Politburo, the core decision-making body of the party’s Central Committee.
Xi said China should speed up efforts to replace its current internet network infrastructure with domestic technology within its control.
