Gov. Greg Abbott announced plans to create a Texas Cyber Command to be headquartered in San Antonio during his annual State of the State address Sunday evening. The Texas Cyber Command would create a strategy for the state to address cyber security concerns.
Abbott said in his address Sunday that with increases in cyber attacks nationwide, Texas needs to address the issue as soon as possible. “We cannot let any more time go by without strongly, robustly addressing this problem,” Abbott said in his address, “And that is why I am calling for an emergency item to create the Texas Cyber Command, to better secure our state from cyber attacks.”
