Milipol Qatar, the region’s leading international event dedicated to homeland security and civil defence in the Middle East returns for its 12th edition from 29-31 October at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) and will be held under the patronage of H.H the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Bringing together thousands of industry professionals under one roof in a unique environment, Milipol Qatar is set to redefine the future of internal security and public safety.

Since inception in 1996, this biennial event has evolved into the benchmark for homeland security and civil defence in the Middle East while also shaping the global agenda. The 12th edition of Milipol Qatar will shine a light on the latest and most extensive range of defence, security, detection and prevention solutions to protect populations. This year’s edition will, for the first time, include live demonstrations where international visitors, VIPs and official delegations can witness new products and innovations in action, presenting homeland defence pioneers from around the world with a unique opportunity to display their technologies in a controlled environment. Furthermore, it gives key decision makers, exhibitors, visitors and buyers the opportunity to witness new products and innovations in action, therefore allowing them to make more strategic decisions on site.

As part of its continuous evolution to provide the best experience for exhibitors, visitors, buyers and industry professionals, Milipol Qatar 2018 has incorporated the Civil Defence Exhibition and Conference. The collaboration of the two shows has resulted in the region’s leading Homeland Security and Civil defence event, bringing together key global civil defence players, for a range of focused conference sessions and agenda-setting panel discussions on the latest and emerging civil defence trends and best practices.

Milipol Qatar, organised by the Ministry of Interior of the State of Qatar in partnership with the French-based Comexposium Security, is held under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar. The event benefits from strong support from governmental entities and private sector partners and industry start-ups, contributing to the objectives of the National Vision 2030 for a diversified economy. The show aligns with the strategy 2018-2022 launched by the Ministry of Interior to highlight the importance of creating a society enjoying peace and has engaged with leading Qatar based companies to name few: Barzan Holding; Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Qatari’s Ministry of Interior (MOI) and Lekhwiya Internal Security Force, will be present with their own exhibition booth, manned by skilled administration teams.


Homeland defence is an ever-growing industry, global spending is set to hit $96 billion by the end of 2018 according to Gartner, the world’s leading research and advisory company, continues to take on even greater significance for global players in the industry. The Milipol Qatar Committee embarked on an extensive roadshow designed to engage international defence specialists. With several, dedicated country pavilions – including France, Italy, Germany, UK and North America – already confirmed for the exhibition, the outreach campaign saw the committee visit several high-profile industry events including Milipol Asia-Pacific 2017 in Singapore, International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) (Turkey), Defence Security Exhibition International (DSEI) (UK), Milipol Paris 2017, GPEC and Feuertrutz (Germany), HOSDB Security & Policing exhibition  and IFSEC (UK), Intertraffic  (Netherlands), Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (Malaysia), FDIC International (USA), the Special Operations Forces Exhibition & Conference (Jordan), and the International Exhibition dedicated to Land Defence Activities – Eurosatory (France), to engage with international defence specialists.


To date, defence specialists from Turkey, France, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Spain, UK, Russia, Morocco, USA and Slovenia have confirmed their participation for the event. Industries participating include public security, defence solutions and equipment, telecom security and technologies, firefighting, radiation detection, emergency equipment, law enforcement products, communications software, airports security systems and much more.


International exhibitors continue to see the value in Milipol Qatar with organisers reporting that 73% of exhibitors who participated in the 2016 edition intend to be back again in October. According to the same research, 73% of exhibitors in 2016 did so because of the quality of the attendance, while 88% said they exhibited because of the platform it provided to showcase new products and services, while 68% highlighted the opportunity to meet potential new customers in the Middle East. A total of 88% of exhibitors said the event was a chance to gain exposure for their company name. The exhibition is open from 9.30am – 5.00pm on Monday, 29 and Tuesday, 30 October, and from 9.30am – 4pm on Wednesday, 31 October.
