No Agency Is Too Small

Back when nation-state threat actors were primarily targeting large government agencies, government contractors, and large companies, security through obscurity was a legitimate strategy. In years past, betting that attackers wouldn’t bother with smaller targets was a feasible way of operating.

It’s feasible no longer. Hackers are better equipped than ever before, thanks in part to artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled tools and ransomware kits made accessible to virtually anyone via the dark web. This has contributed to increasingly sophisticated attacks against agencies and companies of all sizes—not just the largest ones. Now, observes Jason Rolleston, general manager of Broadcom’s Enterprise Security Group, “They’re going after everybody.”

  • Securing ambient AI in healthcare: governance is the new front line

    March 5, 2026

Ambient AI is no longer experimental. It’s live. From AI-powered clinical documentation assistants to remote monitoring systems and intelligent patient engagement agents, healthcare organizations are embedding AI directly into care delivery. The promise is compelling: less administrative burden, faster insights, and more time with patients. But as AI enters clinical workflows, a more urgent question emerges: ...

  • Google patches 129 Android security flaws — including a potentially dangerous Qualcomm zero-day

    March 3, 2026

Google has released a new security update which fixed 129 vulnerabilities in the Android ecosystem, including 10 critical-severity bugs, and one high-severity issue apparently being exploited in the wild. In a security advisory, Google said that it fixed a buffer over-read vulnerability in the Graphics component (an open-source Qualcomm module). The bug, tracked as CVE-2026-21385, was ...

  • Microsoft OAuth scams abuse redirects for malware delivery

    March 3, 2026

Microsoft has warned organizations about ongoing OAuth abuse scams that use phishing emails and URL redirects to infect victims’ machines with malware and take over their devices. The phishing expedition targets government and public-sector organizations, according to a Monday report from Redmond’s security researchers. And while Microsoft Entra disabled the malicious OAuth applications, Microsoft’s infosec squad ...

  • CISA and Partners Release Guidance for Ongoing Global Exploitation of Cisco SD-WAN Systems

    February 25, 2026

CISA and partners have observed malicious cyber actors targeting and compromising Cisco SD-WAN systems of organizations, globally. These actors have been observed exploiting a previously undisclosed authentication bypass vulnerability, CVE-2026-20127, for initial access before escalating privileges using CVE-2022-20775 and establishing long-term persistence in Cisco SD-WAN systems. • Bring the Fight to the Edge: Turning Time Into an Advantage in OT Security

    February 24, 2026

Industrial organizations are facing a growing paradox in cybersecurity. While operational technology (OT) environments are increasingly connected, most security strategies still assume threats will only materialize once attackers reach the plant floor. In reality, attacks that disrupt industrial operations rarely begin in OT environments. They originate upstream, progress over time and frequently exploit the persistent assumption ...

  • CVE-2026-2329: Critical Unauthenticated Stack Buffer Overflow in Grandstream GXP1600 VoIP Phones (FIXED)

    February 18, 2026

Rapid7 Labs conducted a zero-day research project against the Grandstream GXP1600 series of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phones. This research resulted in the discovery of a critical unauthenticated stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability, CVE-2026-2329. A remote attacker can leverage CVE-2026-2329 to achieve unauthenticated remote code execution (RCE) with root privileges on a target device. A vendor ...
