Set to debut in 2023, the annual event was officiated by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia
Kuala Lumpur, 28 October 2022: – Malaysia is set to host the inaugural Cyber Defence and Security Asia Expo and Conference (CyberDSA) which will be held annually from next year. The event will take place over three days from 15 to 17 August 2023, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
This historic milestone was announced by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia, YB Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima TPr Annuar Haji Musa in his speech that was delivered by YBhg. Dato Sri Haji Mohammad Mentek, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia at the event’s launch held in conjunction with the 13th Cyber Security Malaysia – Awards, Conference & Exhibition (CSM-ACE), which will be incorporated into CyberDSA from next year.
Also present were Chairman Board of Directors CyberSecurity Malaysia, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Haji Zulkifeli Bin Mohd Zin (Retired), CEO of CyberSecurity Malaysia, Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin bin Abdul Wahab, Director General of Defence Cyber and Electromagnetic Division, Rear Admiral Dato’ Shamsuddin bin Haji Ludin and Chairman of Aerosea Exhibitions Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin.
“Over its past 13 iterations, CSM-ACE has evolved with the times, achieving even greater success and achievement with every installation. However, it is only natural that it continues to evolve and thrive in order to empower it to chart new and broader boundaries in today’s complex cyber security landscape. In this regard, it is my pleasure to announce that beginning in 2023, CSM-ACE will be incorporated into the inaugural Cyber Defence and Security Asia Expo & Conference also known as CyberDSA 2023. Indeed, a new era in Cyber Security and Defence is dawning upon us, and CyberDSA 2023 will be the next step in placing Malaysia at the forefront of the global Cyber Security agenda. The time has come to secure the future,” said General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Haji Zulkifeli Bin Mohd Zin.
Organised by Aerosea Exhibitions Sdn. Bhd, a leading trade exhibition organiser and supported by CyberSecurity Malaysia, the national cyber security specialist agency, CyberDSA 2023 is set to draw more than 5,000 anticipated visitors, 50 VIP delegations from 20 countries, and over 100 exhibitors under one roof.
During the announcement, seven companies pledged their participation in CyberDSA 2023 including Cyble, Huawei, Looka, Swimlane, Syntx Sdn Bhd, TM One and Zetvest Sdn Bhd.
“In today’s global village, the issue of cyber security can no longer be dealt with locally by nations alone. In order to establish a truly cyber-secure world, nations need to come together to act swiftly, cohesively and integratedly. Facing a global threat with local resources simply cannot suffice. As the threats are global, so needs to be our response. In this regard, CyberDSA will champion the global cyber security agenda, offering a holistic approach to effectively deal with local and international cyber security threats. The sharing of knowledge and expertise, combined with an unprecedented showcase of today’s cutting-edge cyber security technology at CyberDSA will be second to none. Ultimately, it is our hope that CyberDSA will play a pivotal role in leading a new age in global cyber security,” said Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Bin Abdul Wahab, CEO of CyberSecurity Malaysia.
CyberDSA aspires to be the leading regional content-driven event serving the cyber defence and security industry. It aims to connect cyber security professionals and executives in the government and private sectors, driven to accelerate the cyber defence and security agenda through the advancement of future trends including the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G, as well as Cloud and Blockchain Technology among others.
Heralding future trends and the latest technologies, as well as knowledge and insights on cyber intelligence, the inaugural CyberDSA stage will be shared by regulators, policy makers, military personnel, CISO’s, Government officials, practitioners and researchers from all over the world.
“The announcement of CyberDSA is a step in the right direction, building on the legacy established by CSM-ACE. As we look forward to greater things ahead, we are thrilled to meet and connect with global stakeholders in the cybersecurity arena at the inaugural CyberDSA next year. This is indeed an honour for Malaysia, which places our country prominently on the world map with such an all-encompassing and comprehensive event that will help set the global cybersecurity agenda. As such, we look forward to welcome all participants and delegates from all over the world. Plans are already underway to make the inaugural CyberDSA a roaring success” said Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin, Chairman of Aerosea Exhibitions Sdn Bhd.
