Ukraine Hit By Massive Cyber Attack


Ukraine government databases, described as critically important infrastructure, have been hit by a cyber attack that’s being blamed on Russia. Deputy prime minister Olha Stefanishyna said it was the largest external cyber attack on the state registers of Ukraine in recent times.

“As a result of a targeted attack, the work of the Unified and State Registers, which are in the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has been temporarily suspended,” she said. “Now, together with the team and specialists from other services, we are coordinating work on countering cyber attacks and restoring systems. It’s already clear that the attack was made by the Russians in order to disrupt the work of the critically important infrastructure of the state.”
