Hackers staged a powerful and large-scale DDoS attack on the national payment system “Mir” against the backdrop of news about the possible refusal of a number of countries to work with it. How informs “Kommersant”, the goal is to overload the system so that malfunctions in the work of “Mir” begin. The publication refers to its sources in the industry and indicates that the attack is carried out by “Ukrainian hacktivists.”
According to the source, the attack is coordinated through chats, and the participants in the attack use browsers or massive DDoS tools. The Central Bank and the National Payment Card System (NSPK) declined to comment on the situation, but commercial banks say that attacks have been going on since the beginning of the events around Ukraine.
